Amina Agueznay

Amina Agueznay lives and works in Marrakech. Her installations owe much to her training as an architect, which she practiced in the United States before moving back to Morocco to enter the field of jewellery creation. Conceived as true odes to the material, her first collections lead her to creations of modern form and use, carried out according to traditional know-how and her own experiments. Renewing certain architectural applications, she then considered spectacular sets of jewellery, then XXL body installations that gradually began to take over the entire space to the detriment of the body. His major installations, Cocoon/Alter Cocoon (2010), Skin (2011), Casablanca Green (2015), Ankabouth (2016), and Bruits (2018-2019), will be exhibited at the Mohammed VI Museum in Rabat, New York, Paris, Mons, Belgium, Assilah and Marrakech respectively. Today, his appropriation of materials and know-how around his art gives him international recognition as well as a perfect knowledge of traditional Moroccan arts.

"What kind of creator am I: someone who loves the world of craftsmen and the dynamics of sharing". -  Amina Aguezna
