The flowers I included are from all around, but especially from here in South Africa, most importantly the country’s national flowers such as the Protea, lily, and others. Flowers are generally associated with women and therefore I purposely used them in a portrait of myself asa man.
The yellow on top represents happiness and positivity. Red does not stand for anger, but love and healthy relationships. Gold is liked. Blue is patience, calmness and humbleness. Pink is a good feeling inside, inspiration. The bottom is the natural earth as we know it, as we know plants die if they are not well taken care of. They depend on the soil for minerals. I wanted to show their beauty, this is why I moved them from the bottom and made use of the space provided by the whole portrait. I made them stars of the show.
