This work was inspired by the ongoing power cuts in South Africa. As a lot of South Africans have been left in a state of perpetual confusion over these cuts, the title What stage are we on? is a question we find ourselves asking every day. It is not just a question of power cuts: I think it is also fair to ask what stage are we on in terms of politics and leadership. I make use of blindfolds to indicate how so many of us do not want to take part in this ongoing political game but at the same time wait for the day when it’s all over and we can all go back to our normal way of living.
