Ablade Glover's "Market Profiles" is typical of the artist's signature style and palette. Glover often paints crowds in bright colors, that are reminiscent of the urban landscape of his native Ghana as well as the pigments used in traditional African clothing. Throbbing with movement and color, his composition becomes merely abstracted; the figures become shapes and the work thus reflects on the frenzied environment of local markets. His visual interpretation of the lively and unorganized settings in which people interact hints at the urban chaos of his homeland. At the intersection of expressionism, realism, and abstraction, "Market Profiles" is a seminal example from Glover's body of works.
